Future Electronics Announces Availability of New High Speed PIN Photodiode from Vishay

Montreal, Canada – April 30, 2017 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, has announced availability of a new high speed silicon PIN photodiode with enhanced sensitivity for visible light, from Vishay Semiconductors.

The new PIN photodiode, part number VEMD5080X01, from Vishay is available in a compact 5 mm by 4 mm top-view, surface-mount package with a low 0.9 mm profile. It offers fast switching times and low capacitance for precise signal detection in wearable devices as well as for medical, industrial, and automotive applications.

With a large radiant-sensitive area and high radiant sensitivity with a reverse light current of 45 µA and dark current of 0.2 nA, the device detects visible and near infrared radiation across a wide range from 350 nm to 1100 nm, a 30% increase compared to prior-generation solutions.

The VEMD5080X01 is tested to AEC-Q101 standards for Automotive Grade semiconductors, is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and has a moisture sensitivity level (MSL) of 4 in accordance with J-STD-020 for a floor life of 72 hours.

Future Electronics Announces Immediate Availability of New Wearable Technology Products from Vishay

The VEML6075, a UVA and UVB sensor, offers 16-bit resolution per channel, with peak sensitivity at 330 nm and 365 nm, and is available in a compact 4-pin package.

For display control, the VEML6040 RGBW sensor has 16-bit resolution for each channel, and a selectable maximum detection range up to 16000lux. Vishay’s TEMD6200FX01 is an analog 0805 ambient light sensor, adapted to human eye responsivity. The VEML6030 is a 16-bit ALS sensor with an I²C interface and on-chip coating to match human eye sensitivity.

For heart rate measurement, Vishay offers theVEMD5010X01 high-sensitivity PIN diode with a low profile of 0.9 mm and the lowest cross talk. Also available is the VEMD5060X01 low-capacitance, high-speed PIN diode providing excellent linearity, and also with a low profile of 0.9 mm. The TEMD5510FX01 PIN diode has peak sensitivity at 540 nm (green), and a low profile of 1.1 mm. The VSMD6694 comprises two light-emitting diodes in a single low-profile 0.85 mm package, with peak wavelength at 660 nm and 940 nm, for SpO2 measurements.

Montreal, Canada – February 4, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, recently announced immediate availability of Vishay’s VOM160 and VO2223A phototriacs, making appliances smarter with opto-isolation.

Even the humble coffee maker now has sophisticated microprocessor-based power control features, requiring the control of AC power using sensitive digital devices on the same board. Vishay’s phototriacs are particularly useful in isolating these devices from noisy and dangerous line voltages. Vishay’s VOM160 comes in an extremely small footprint of just 5 x 5mm, while offering an outstanding safety isolation test voltage of 3750VRMS. With a mere 0.4pF of coupling capacitance from input to output, it provides outstanding noise isolation. This is a critical feature for controlling high line voltages with sensitive microcontrollers, while a VO2223A, in a slightly larger footprint, offers considerably higher load current.

The VOM160 and VO2223A offer a small footprint, low trigger current, solid state reliability, and high voltage in high current packages. Future Electronics Promotes Vishay’s PowerPAK 8x8L Package

Montreal, Canada – October 19, 2015 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, promotes the space and power saving PowerPAK® 8x8L package AEC-Q101 from Vishay, qualified for automotive applications.

Vishay’s SQJQ402E, the industry’s first AEC-Q101 qualified, 100% lead-free MOSFET in 8 x 8mm footprint, offers high temperature operation to +175°C providing the ruggedness and reliability required for automotive applications. The internal construction of the device’s PowerPAK 8x8L 8 x 8mm package minimizes inductance and enables a low maximum on-resistance of 1.5mΩ at 10V and 1.8mΩ at 4.5V.

Additional design features also provide very high continuous drain current capability up to 200A. The device also features gull-wing leads specifically designed to reduce PCB solder joint stress caused by the wide range of operating temperatures commonly experienced in automotive applications.

To save PCB space and costs, and enable the creation of smaller and lighter modules in applications where multiple MOSFETs are often required, the SQJQ402E offers similar on-resistance and higher continuous current than devices in the D2PAK, while providing a 60% smaller footprint area and 60% thinner profile. To save power, the SQJQ402E offers half the on-resistance, twice the current, and a 21% smaller profile than devices in the DPAK, all with only a 12% larger footprint. The SQJQ402E signals the release of an extensive roadmap of MOSFETs that will allow designers to exploit the benefits of this package in a multitude of automotive applications such as motor drives, electric power steering, transmission control, and injector drives.
