The BNO055 from Bosch is a System in Package (SiP) intelligent 9-axis “Absolute Orientation Sensor” integrating a triaxial 14-bit accelerometer, a triaxial 16-bit gyroscope with a range of ±2000° per second, a triaxial geomagnetic sensor and a 32-bit microcontroller running the Bosch BSX3.0 FusionLib software.

Future Electronics Offers Altech’s DC-UPS System to Optimize Power Management

Montreal, Canada – December 19, 2014 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, has announced immediate availability of Altech’s DC-UPS system.

The Altech DC-UPS system is built to optimize power management. The available power is automatically allocated between load and battery; supplying power to the load is the first priority. For high inrush applications the charging power will reroute automatically to the load. In this case the maximum available current on the load output is two times the value of the device rated current.

The Battery Care concept is based on algorithms that achieve rapid and automatic charging, battery optimization during charging time, flat batteries recovery and real time diagnostics. The Real Time Auto-diagnostic system, monitors battery faults, sulfated battery, short circuit battery elements, reverse polarity connection, and battery disconnect. These conditions are detected and identified by the number of blinks of the diagnosis LED.

The Altech DC-UPS system is designed to charge and monitor all battery types, by selecting the battery type via jumpers. The pre-defined curves include Open Lead Acid, Sealed Lead Acid, Gel, and Ni-Cd (optional) battery types. The charging curves are programmed to automatically switch between Recovery Charge, Boost charge and Trickle charge. The continuous battery efficiency monitoring reduces battery damage risk and allows a safe operation in permanent connection.

A compact and rugged metal case with DIN rail mounting bracket provides easy installation and IP20 protection.

Future Electronics Offers the FAN53525 Series for Power Regulation, Conversion and Management

Montreal, Canada – November 18, 2014 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, offers the FAN53525 Series from Fairchild, for power regulation, conversion and management.

The FAN53525, 3.0A, 2.4MHz, digitally programmable TinyBuck® regulator is a step-down switching voltage regulator that delivers a digitally programmable output from an input voltage supply of 2.5V to 5.5V. The output voltage is programmed through an I2C interface capable of operating up to 3.4MHz. Using a proprietary architecture with synchronous rectification, the FAN53525 is capable of delivering 3.0A continuous at over 80% efficiency, maintaining that efficiency at load currents as low as 10mA.

The FAN5325 Series has 3.0A continuous output current capability, with best in class load transient, a 2.5V to 5.5V input voltage range, and digitally programmable output voltage of 0.600V to 1.39375V in 6.25mV steps.

In addition, the FAN53525 Series offers a programmable slew rate for voltage transitions, PFM mode for high efficiency in light load, input under-voltage lockout (UVLO), thermal shutdown and overload protection, and comes in a 15-bump wafer-level chip scale package (WLCSP).
