Future Electronics Promotes Vishay’s Low Profile PLZ Series Zener Diodes

Montreal, Canada – July 14, 2015 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, recently announced immediate availability of the PLZ Series of 500mW Zener diodes in low profile MicroSMF eSMP Series package.

The first new series of Zener diodes with 500mW of power dissipation is available in the ultra-compact MicroSMF eSMP series package. Combining extremely tight voltage tolerances with low leakage current and excellent stability, the PLZ series is designed to withstand ESD pulses of 8000V (human body model), save PCB space, and increase pick-and-place speed for assembly lines.

The series offers 500mW power dissipation with voltage tolerances of ±2.5% in a symmetrical class SOD-323 flat lead package. With their compact footprints and low profiles of <0.6mm, PLZ series devices save significant PCB space when compared to diodes in similar plastic or glass SMD packages. The devices are optimized for voltage stabilization and reference voltage generation in power supplies and LED lighting. PLZ series diodes feature a planar structure to guarantee high performance, ruggedness, and reliability characteristics. The devices provide a moisture sensitivity level (MSL) of 1 per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of +260°C; meet the JESD 201 Class 2 whisker test; and are RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay GREEN. Ideal for automated placement, the diodes support wave and reflow soldering and allow for automated optical inspection (AOI) systems.

Future Electronics Offers Extended PBK Series of AC/DC Power Supplies from CUI Inc

Montreal, Canada – January 8, 2015 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, offers the extended PBK Series of AC/DC power supplies from CUI Inc.

CUI Inc has extended its PBK series of compact single inline pin (SIP) AC-DC power supplies to include right-angle versions. The low profile PBK-B family is available in 1W, 3W and 5W configurations. The smallest version, the 1W PBK-1-B power module, measures just 35 x 25 x 13mm. The modules’ small size makes them ideally suited to on-board AC-DC power conversion in designs in which board space is limited. The high density PBK-B series is offered in single output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V and 24V, and can operate from AC input voltages ranging between 85V and 264V. For high voltage DC-DC applications, the modules also provide a DC input range spanning 100V to 400V. All models are designed for 3,000V AC/1 minute input-to-output isolation and have over-current and continuous short circuit protection. The modules can function across a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C (the 1W PBK-1-B and the 3W PBK-3-B) and -25°C to +85°C (the 5W PBK-5-B). The low profile PBK-B series meets the requirements of internationally recognized UL 60950-1/EN 60950-1 standards and complies with EN55022 Class B limits for conducted and radiated electromagnetic emissions, with few additional external components required.

Features include universal input-voltage range, low profile right-angle SIP package, and low no-load power consumption.
