Future Electronics Announces Availability of New High Speed PIN Photodiode from Vishay

Montreal, Canada – April 30, 2017 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, has announced availability of a new high speed silicon PIN photodiode with enhanced sensitivity for visible light, from Vishay Semiconductors.

The new PIN photodiode, part number VEMD5080X01, from Vishay is available in a compact 5 mm by 4 mm top-view, surface-mount package with a low 0.9 mm profile. It offers fast switching times and low capacitance for precise signal detection in wearable devices as well as for medical, industrial, and automotive applications.

With a large radiant-sensitive area and high radiant sensitivity with a reverse light current of 45 µA and dark current of 0.2 nA, the device detects visible and near infrared radiation across a wide range from 350 nm to 1100 nm, a 30% increase compared to prior-generation solutions.

The VEMD5080X01 is tested to AEC-Q101 standards for Automotive Grade semiconductors, is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and has a moisture sensitivity level (MSL) of 4 in accordance with J-STD-020 for a floor life of 72 hours.

Montreal, Canada – February 13, 2017 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, and Microsemi Corporation have announced a series of free seminars on designing with Microsemi’s IGLOO™2 and SmartFusion™2 system-on-chip (SoC) field programmable gate array (FPGA) technology.

The one-day hands-on workshops are based on Microsemi’s leading-edge IGLOO2 FPGA and SmartFusion2 SoC FPGA technologies, highlighting the benefits of Future’s newly available Microsemi IGLOO2 and SmartFusion2 Creative Development Kit.

Participants will learn about the many benefits of Microsemi’s Libero SoC Design Suite, a comprehensive, easy to learn, easy to adopt development toolset for designing with Microsemi’s power-efficient FPGAs and SoC FPGAs. Attendees will receive a complimentary Creative Development Kit from Future Electronics, to enable the development of their own SoC designs.
