NICHIA New 319A Product Series Available Through Future Lighting Solutions

Montreal, Quebec, January 6, 2017 – NICHIA Corporation, a leader in LED technology, has officially launched their new 319A high power LED product series.  The 319A series is available through Nichia Sales Offices, Future Lighting Solutions (FLS), a world-class leader and innovator in the distribution and marketing of solid-state lighting technologies, and other partner distributors.

The 319A series features the highest efficacy 3W power package with a nominal forward current of 1050mA. It incorporates new cutting edge die technology to maximize light density under the LED dome. The 319A will also enable differentiated luminaire form factor designs because the LM-80 data support drive currents of 1200mA at an in-situ temperature of 120°C to minimize the LED count as well as the size and shape of the thermal solution. Key applications include outdoor, area, downlight, spot and high bay lighting.

“With a single LED platform, lighting manufacturers can create a wide range of innovative luminaires with peace of mind,” said Erik Swenson, General Manager, North America, Nichia. “The 319A is also footprint compatible with the existing 219C family to increase options from existing designs,” added Swenson.

“The 319A is compatible with existing secondary optics for lighting manufacturers to immediately take advantage of the technology in order to innovate and differentiate their luminaire portfolio,” said Jamie Singerman, Corporate Vice President, Future Lighting Solutions.

Magnum Energy Solutions and Future Lighting Solutions Announce Global Distribution Partnership at Light + Building 2016

Frankfurt am Main, Germany and Hudson, Ohio – March 16, 2016 – Magnum Energy Solutions (MES), a leading provider of innovative wireless technology, and Future Lighting Solutions (FLS), a leading provider of solid-state lighting technologies, today announced a global distribution partnership.

Through this agreement FLS, a division of Future Electronics, will market, promote and distribute Magnum’s comprehensive wireless lighting control products worldwide. The official launch of this partnership will take place at Light & Building in Frankfurt Germany March 13-18th where FLS will exhibit Magnum’s OPUS line of lighting controls in Hall 4.2, Stand K38.

“We are delighted to partner with Magnum Energy Solutions worldwide.  The breadth of their portfolio will enable us to continue to enhance our ability to support our customers with complete lighting solutions,” said Jamie Singerman, Corporate Vice-President Worldwide, Future Lighting Solutions.

Given Future’s long-standing relationships with lighting OEMs, the cornerstone of this partnership will emphasize Magnum’s new OPUS line of fixture-integrated lighting control products. Magnum’s OPUS fixture “nodes” enable individual fixture control for both high bay and low bay luminaires, covering DALI, PWM and 0-10V dim-to-off compatibility.

Magnum uniquely integrates significant intelligence at the device level, enabling advanced daylighting and control strategies in a completely standalone environment. Other popular solution providers rely on expensive and cumbersome software platforms to create smart, connected lighting platforms. Instead Magnum provides customers with AirConfig, a remote commissioning and configuration tool for users to assign devices, enable intelligent functionality, and access a variety of features.

For customers that want additional software for connection to mobile phones, Magnum offers a free software package. For users that recognize the benefit of BACnet integration, Future also distributes Magnum’s cost effective eBox gateway, which translates incoming wireless transmissions seamlessly into BACnet IP objects.

“We are very excited about the partnership with Future,” comments Mike Giorgi, CEO of Magnum, “We recognized the substantial advantages in partnering with a with a large semiconductor distributor. Future Lighting Solutions is already strongly positioned with a host of lighting OEMs and we also valued how their team is uniquely poised on the forefront of wireless technologies. We see this strategic partnership as beneficial to reach a global audience of manufacturers to enable smart, energy efficient lighting products.

Attendees of Light & Building interested in learning more about Magnum OPUS are invited to toast the launch of this exciting partnership by visiting the Future Lighting Solutions Stand K38 in Hall 4.2 on Tuesday, March 15th between 4 and 6pm (16.00 to 18.00 local time) where champagne and appetizers will be served.

Future Lighting Solutions and Tairis Complete Outdoor LED Lighting Project for New City Park in São Paulo Brazil

Montreal, Canada – September 3, 2014 – Future Lighting Solutions is pleased to announce the completion of a successful project with Tairis, installing new solid-state LED lighting fixtures for a new city park located in Vinhedo in São Paulo, Brazil.

One of the main goals of the project included demonstrating to the city mayor and other officials the many advantages of solid-state lighting technology, particularly in regard to energy savings and reduced maintenance costs, as well as city beautification.

Future Lighting Solutions and Philips Lumileds played a pivotal role in the development and proof of concept for the new outdoor fixtures, while Tairis handled the manufacturing and installation. Future Lighting Solutions’ exclusive Usable Light Tool (ULT) was critical in providing the data needed in order to determine the most effective and efficient products to be implemented in the project.

The new park, comprising 12,500 square meters in the city of Vinhedo, is used as a recreational area for the local population. 39 poles were installed, with 4 LIRA 8 models in each one, for a total of 156 @ 75W fixtures. 1,247 LUXEON M’s were used, chosen for their lumen/W and lumen/$ ratios. Other products selected based on their superior performance include Philips Xitanium drivers and Ledil’s Strada optics.

Future Lighting Solutions Releases Highly Anticipated Driver Selector Tool

MONTREAL, CANADA (March 27, 2012) – Future Lighting Solutions has announced the release of its new, Driver Selector Tool, an online tool which enables users to obtain the optimum LED drivers based on application requirements.

“As the power solution offerings from Future Lighting Solutions continue to expand, there is a need to be able to select an LED driver module in a simpler and more dynamic way,” said Patrick Durand, Future Lighting Solutions Worldwide Technical Director.

The tool is more sophisticated than a simple filtering tool. It takes into account parameters such as potential LED failures, and the impact of dimming and temperature on the LEDs’ forward voltage to generate the drivers that best suit the application.

If the user input criteria doesn’t return any drivers, the Driver Selector Tool has an intelligent algorithm by which a wizard will suggest some modifications to the input criteria that will return some drivers. There will be tradeoff decisions between the input criteria and the returned drivers.

Durand continued, “By leveraging the various input fields, users can dramatically reduce the number of iterative scenarios they need to run to make clear design tradeoff decisions, thus facilitating validation and justification of these decisions to further decrease time to market.”

The Driver Selector Tool is available at http://www.FutureLightingSolutions.com/en/Development

Registered users can login with their existing Future Lighting Solutions online tool username and password. New users can register at the same location.
