Platform connects four smart street lights, operating on the Future Electronics stand, to the cloud and displays real-time sensor readings on any browser

Egham, UK, December 2016 – Future Electronics, founded in 1968 by company president Robert Miller and now a world-class leader and innovator in the distribution and marketing of electronics components, is to demonstrate at Embedded World (Nuremberg, Germany, 14-16 March 2017) a true “sensor to cloud” solution allowing its customers to more easily evaluate their product in the IoT world.

The Future Electronics IoT Solution Platform provides cloud storage, security and dashboard analytics designed to be an out of the box solution for fast and easy evaluation allowing embedded developers to tailor the cloud service to the specific needs of their application. Our Connectivity Solutions team of dedicated BDM’s and FAE’s ensure expert technical support is at hand worldwide throughout your entire product development cycle from component level design to cloud and data insights.

Future IoT Solutions Platform will be demonstrated at Embedded World via four cloud-connected smart street lights on the Future Electronics stand (Hall 3.225). The street light heads, designed by Future Lighting Solutions, a specialist division of Future Electronics, are connected to an internet gateway via a LoRa™ low-power wireless area network. They feature various smart functions including:

* pedestrian flow measurement and analysis
* IP security cameras
* gas and pollution detection
* contactless parking payments

Data and transactions processed by the street lights will be transmitted in real time to the cloud for storage and analysis, and the live results will be displayed via a dashboard on a 50” LCD screen on the Future Electronics stand.

Future Electronics will also display development boards supporting the ARM Cortex-M MCUs and various sensors used in each of the four street lights. Visitors to Embedded World are invited to apply for free boards at the Future Electronics stand.

Future Electronics Releases etech ALERT About Microsemi’s Ocelot Industrial IoT Ethernet Switch ICs

Montreal, Canada – December 16, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components founded in 1968 by Robert Miller, recently released an etech ALERT featuring the Ocelot Industrial IoT Ethernet Switch ICs from Microsemi.

Future Electronics Releases etech ALERT About the EZ-BLE XT/XR CYBLE-224110-00 module from Cypress

Montreal, Canada – December 9, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components founded in 1968 by Robert Miller, recently released an etech ALERT featuring the EZ-BLE XT/XR CYBLE-224110-00 module from Cypress Semiconductor.

The new EZ-BLE XT/XR CYBLE-224110-00 module is available in a small 9.5-mm by 15.4-mm, 32-pad footprint. The module is the industry’s first with an extended temperature range of -40˚C to +105˚C, enabling robust operation in outdoor and industrial environments.

The new XT/XR module’s extended range opens up the use of Bluetooth connectivity to a broad range of home automation, industrial and smart city applications. The Bluetooth 4.2 compatible version will be available during Q4.
