Future Electronics Offers Wide Range of Panasonic Sensors for Automotive & Industrial Applications

Panasonic’s PIR Motion Sensors (PaPIRs), offer simplified circuitry with fully integrated sensor design. With only 1micro A current consumption, these no-lead (Pb) eco-friendly sensors are suitable for battery-driven wireless equipment.

Panasonic’s Grid-EYE infrared array sensors are 8×8 (64) pixel array infrared detection sensors, with digital output (I2C) for thermal presence, direction and temperature values. The built-in lens includes a 60-degree viewing angle, and its compact SMD design uses MEMS technology. Applications include digital signage, security, lighting control, kiosks/ATMs, medical imaging, automatic doors, thermal mapping, people counting and robotics.

Panasonic’s light sensor NaPiCa is a visible light sensor (Silicon Photo IC) that detects light and converts into electrical current. It consists of a photodiode and built-in amplifier. And optical filter provides spectral response similar to human eye sensitivity. Applications include LCD backlight control, commercial and residential lighting brightness control, and security lighting.

For air pressure, Panasonic offers high precision gauge pressure sensors available with and without amplifier, and with or without a glass base in DIP terminal. Pressure ratings range from -100 to 1,000kPa. Applications include pressure switches, pneumatic devices, blood pressure monitors, clean rooms, oxygen concentrators, respiratory equipment, and air beds.

Panasonic’s acceleration sensors offer electrostatic capacitance detection, high sensitivity and reliability. 2-Axis and 1-Axis acceleration sensors are available, as well as ceramic package type and stand alone accelerometers.

Future Electronics Announces Immediate Availability of Super Barrier Rectifiers from Diodes Incorporated

Montreal, Canada – July 19, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components founded in 1968 by Robert Miller, has announced immediate shipping availability of Diodes Incorporated’s new SBRT3M40P1 Trench Super Barrier Rectifier (SBR®), optimized for solid-state retrofit MR16 LED lamps.

The SBRT3M40P1 Trench Super Barrier Rectifier, recently introduced by Diodes Inc. and available through Future Electronics, has been optimized to deliver a low forward-voltage drop in a small form factor while maintaining low reverse-current leakage. This capability addresses requirements for input bridge rectifiers in solid-state lighting (SSL) applications focused on 12V AC LED retrofit lamps, offering a more efficient and longer life alternative to MR16 halogen bulbs.

Operating at +125°C, this 40V rated Trench SBR, has a low reverse-current leakage of only 1.2mA at 12V blocking, thus ensuring immunity to thermal runaway under the high ambient temperature environment of an MR16 retrofit. In addition, it maximizes the 1A bridge rectifier efficiency and power density with just a 0.29V forward-voltage drop in a compact PowerDI®123 footprint of 6.75mm2.

In order to minimize forward loss, the SBRT3U40P1 is an alternative device with a lower forward-voltage drop of 0.25V at the expense of an increase in the reverse-current leakage to 4mA. Options for different forward loss and reverse leakage enable the rectification circuit to be optimized depending on the waveform’s duty cycle requirements and operating temperature.

Future Electronics Now Stocking Reduced Thru Wire and Junctions Box Connectors from AVX

Montreal, Canada – July 15, 2016 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components founded in 1968 by Robert Miller, recently announced that the company is now stocking reduced thru wire and junction box connectors from AVX.
Wire-to-Wire (WTW) connectors have been used in the industrial market for years with traditional 2-Piece (plug & socket) connector systems. These require crimp and poke wire terminations to connect discrete wires together. While these provide repeated pluggability and latching, they are often size and cost prohibited in applications where the wires may only need to be replaced once or twice during their life.

The reduced 9286-250 series of junction connectors from AVX expands on the already proven 9286 poke-home discrete WTW family of connectors, but in a smaller package size. Junction box connectors electrically connect each of the inserted wires together, similar to a branch or splitter application but with multiple outputs. The development of an active stainless steel spring contact eliminates the need for push button activation to insert and remove wires which offers a significant cost savings. The mechanical properties of this contact provide maximum wire retention across a broad range of solid and stranded wire gauges, making this connector very versatile in field installations.

Typical applications for these reduced thru wire and junction box connectors from AVX include industrial machine controls (motors, drives, solenoids, sensors, fans, pumps, etc.), commercial buildings (controls, security, fire and sensors), smart grid (meters, breakers and panels), and SSL/LED (fixtures, signage and streetlights).

The VEML6075, a UVA and UVB sensor, offers 16-bit resolution per channel, with peak sensitivity at 330 nm and 365 nm, and is available in a compact 4-pin package.

For display control, the VEML6040 RGBW sensor has 16-bit resolution for each channel, and a selectable maximum detection range up to 16000lux. Vishay’s TEMD6200FX01 is an analog 0805 ambient light sensor, adapted to human eye responsivity. The VEML6030 is a 16-bit ALS sensor with an I²C interface and on-chip coating to match human eye sensitivity.

For heart rate measurement, Vishay offers theVEMD5010X01 high-sensitivity PIN diode with a low profile of 0.9 mm and the lowest cross talk. Also available is the VEMD5060X01 low-capacitance, high-speed PIN diode providing excellent linearity, and also with a low profile of 0.9 mm. The TEMD5510FX01 PIN diode has peak sensitivity at 540 nm (green), and a low profile of 1.1 mm. The VSMD6694 comprises two light-emitting diodes in a single low-profile 0.85 mm package, with peak wavelength at 660 nm and 940 nm, for SpO2 measurements.
