Future Electronics Offers Altech’s DC-UPS System to Optimize Power Management

Montreal, Canada – December 19, 2014 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, has announced immediate availability of Altech’s DC-UPS system.

The Altech DC-UPS system is built to optimize power management. The available power is automatically allocated between load and battery; supplying power to the load is the first priority. For high inrush applications the charging power will reroute automatically to the load. In this case the maximum available current on the load output is two times the value of the device rated current.

The Battery Care concept is based on algorithms that achieve rapid and automatic charging, battery optimization during charging time, flat batteries recovery and real time diagnostics. The Real Time Auto-diagnostic system, monitors battery faults, sulfated battery, short circuit battery elements, reverse polarity connection, and battery disconnect. These conditions are detected and identified by the number of blinks of the diagnosis LED.

The Altech DC-UPS system is designed to charge and monitor all battery types, by selecting the battery type via jumpers. The pre-defined curves include Open Lead Acid, Sealed Lead Acid, Gel, and Ni-Cd (optional) battery types. The charging curves are programmed to automatically switch between Recovery Charge, Boost charge and Trickle charge. The continuous battery efficiency monitoring reduces battery damage risk and allows a safe operation in permanent connection.

A compact and rugged metal case with DIN rail mounting bracket provides easy installation and IP20 protection.

Future Electronics Offers AS5600 Series Programmable Contactless Potentiometers from ams

Montreal, Canada – December 15, 2014 – Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, has announced immediate availability of the AS5600 Series of programmable contactless potentiometers from ams.

The AS5600 is an easy to program magnetic rotary position sensor with a high-resolution 12-bit analog or PWM output. This contactless system measures the absolute angle of a diametric magnetized on-axis magnet. The AS5600 is designed for contactless potentiometer applications and its robust design eliminates the influence of any homogenous external stray magnetic fields.

The industry-standard I2C interface supports simple user programming of non-volatile parameters without requiring a dedicated programmer. By default the output represents a range from 0 to 360 degrees. It is also possible to define a smaller range to the output by programming a zero angle (start position) and a maximum angle (stop position).

The AS5600 is also equipped with a smart low power mode feature to automatically reduce the power consumption. An input pin (DIR) selects the polarity of the output with regard to rotation direction. If DIR is connected to ground, the output value increases with clockwise rotation. If DIR is connected to VDD, the output value increases with counterclockwise rotation.

For more information about ams, the AS5600 Series, analog, sensors, linear position, or programmable contactless potentiometers, as well as access to the world’s largest available-to-sell inventory, visit www.FutureElectronics.com.
